Bosch Huayu Steering System Co., Ltd. ("Bosch Huayu") and Shanghai Thinktech Information Technology Co., Ltd. ("Shanghai Thinktech") announced a strategic cooperation. According to the agreement, in the future, the two parties will give full play to their respective advantages in component and chip design, fully share and integrate resources. Both parties will jointly define chips and actively promote domestic substitution of chips starting from chip development cooperation to establish a long-term and stable relationship.

Due to global epidemic, the semiconductor industry has severely suspended production and supply. In the case of automotive MCU products, the lack of production capacity is particularly prominent. The acceleration of domestic substitution and the realization of independent control of the chip industry have risen to the national strategic height. Auto OEMs and Tier1s have also put forward urgent requirements for domestic chip independence rate. The strategic cooperation between Bosch Huayu and Shanghai Thinktech has responded to the national strategy and the development strategy of domestically-made automotive chips from the national level, improved customer response capabilities and problem solving from the automotive industry level, enhanced the domestic semiconductor industry design and manufacturing capabilities from the product level, and ensured supply chain security from the supply chain level, stabilized market share and profitability, and created more value for the development of society and enterprises.

Zhang Haitao, general manager of Huayu Automobile, pointed out in his speech that MCU plays a very important role in the intelligentization and networking of automobiles. This strategic cooperation is of great significance. In order to meet the market demand, especially the needs of new forces and domestic automobile brands, we need to further compress the entire development cycle. The ‘chip shortage’ situation in this year has caused a lot of trouble in product supply and technical iteration. This is going to be a very challenging task, and I look forward to the success of this project. There are two kinds of success in it. One is the success of the product itself, and the other is the success of meeting the needs of electronic steering. These two successes are significant to the intelligentization of Bosch Huayu's products, and they are also an important part of enterprise supply chain risk management. Qiu Qi, general manager of Bosch Huayu, said in his speech that it is important to consider this project from three aspects: one is to advance the timing of the transition to new products, the second is the diversification of chip supply, and the last is to support the application of domestic chips on vehicles. The entire project should use an efficient project communication and management mechanism, and catch the schedule of the project.
